Police have been reporting that, whilst crimes like anti-social behaviour and burglary are down, shoplifting has been on the rise in the last few months.

Action has been taken, with traders working more closely together to identify shoplifters and let each other know when known individuals are spotted in the area.

Police have made four arrests recently, with the four people responsible for tens of crimes – mostly around Cheadle, but also some at Stanley Green.
