Water leak reported at the Kingsway junction

Update: The contractors were on site repairing the leak this afternoon – Friday 27th Jan 2012.

The Lib Dem team have reported a water leak at the Kingsway junction to United Utilities, so it should be seen to soon.

The water is bubbling up by the central reservation on the Gatley side of the junction and, without all the other rain around, it quite obvious this morning if you pass by.

If you see a water leak, you can report it to United Utilities by calling 0800 33 00 33 or filling in the online form.

I also reported this – more than once! what a complete waste of water. so i don’t think it was a lib-dem job alone!

what the burst did show was that most of the drains are blocked! how simple it is for the council to carry out regular cleaning – particularly at junctions such as this. it is also a danger. many motorists (including myself) try to avoid soaking pedestrians which means we straddle two lanes. the council finds money for all sorts of nonsense. come on. start a clean the drains campaign.

Hi Robert,

The drains along that section of Gatley road are due to be cleaned out in the next week or so, and at least annually thereafter.

Glad you reported it too – the more, the better.

Manchester road opposite the car showroom, & outside the Ashlea is in need of attention, I was badly splashed over the weekend. The grid in the footpath outside the Bathroom showroom, Gatley Road is regularly blocked, often making the pavement impassable, & resorting to walking in the road.
