The human remains found under M60 J3 Motorway bridge have sadly been confirmed as Sale dad Vinny Derrick, who went missing in the early hours of 30th August 2003 after a night out in Manchester. It’s thought that he got a lift, possibly in a taxi, and was dropped off somewhere in the south of Manchester, but what happened after that is unknown.
Vinny leaves a wife, Vicki, and a son, Louis, who have been living for the last eight years without knowing for sure if he was alive or dead.
The identification looks to be fast work by police. The remains are bones from a skeleton. The bones were discovered by workmen on Wednesday morning and the site was quickly secured by police who have been investigating since.

Rest in Peace Vinny. I hope Vikki will now be able to find closure and some peace after all these years and hopes which kept getting cruelly dashed.
Now let’s begin the task of finding the odious character who did this and has remained silent for all this time knowing full well the torture he was putting this family through.
But for now, my thoughts and prayers are with the Derrick Family.
