The boardwalk at Gatley Carrs, overlooking the pond, will shortly be replaced thanks to a grant from Forever Manchester and the Stockport Fund. The Gatley Carrs Conservation Group have worked hard to raise the money.
The £2,982 grant will allow the Boardwalk to be replaced. Without the money, the old boardwalk would soon have had to be cordoned off.
The pond is rich in wildlife and regularly visited by local children, along with nature lovers of all ages.

Thanks to everyone who sent emails and letters to ranger Rachel at Abney in response to Iain’s report last November and thanks also to the children of Gatley Primary School who sent letters and pictures. I am sure that we wouldn’t have got the donation without your effort.
