A planning application is due to be submitted for 29 new houses on the former Village Lighting premises, Old Wool Lane, Cheadle Hulme. The site is on the edge of the Demmings Industrial Estate, near to Brookfield Road and Demmings Road.
There will be a public display of the proposals at the Cheadle Golf Club on Thursday 1st March from 4pm to 8pm.
(To get to Cheadle Golf Club, turn down Shiers Drive as if going to the Village Hotel or the swimming pool, and just carry on along the road).

More houses, more congestion, more pollution, greater strain on Council services, on education, on power demands; less open space for recreation, release of youthful energies; less wildlife. This area is becoming another inner city add-on. Planning has become another fixit word – the easy way out!
