Keith Holloway selected to fight for Cheadle & Gatley

by Lib Dem team on 31 March, 2012

With the local elections just a few weeks away on 3rd May, the Lib Dems have selected hard-working local campaigner Keith Holloway to fight for Cheadle & Gatley – which looks to be another close fight between us and the Conservatives. Last year just 90 votes separated the Lib Dems and the Tories, with Labour finishing a poor third.

Keith worked closely with our former MP Patsy Calton and more recently with Mark Hunter MP. He lives in Cheadle Hulme and has recently retired after more than thirty years working in the NHS.

Over the last year Keith has been working with Pam and Iain to get the best deal for local residents.

If you like what the Lib Dems do locally and you want an excellent, experienced, hard-working councillor, vote for Keith Holloway.

Polling day is Thursday 3rd May 2012, with postal votes being sent out a week or two before that. Only Keith can beat the Conservatives! Only Keith and the Lib Dems have the record of action and keeping in touch all year round, every year – not just when there’s an election near.

Some of the younger folk arund may not realise just how long the Lib Dems have been delivering Keeping in Touch around Cheadle & Gatley. It goes back at least to the early 1970s – I lived with my parents in what was then the Manchester part of Gatley but we still got it delivered (presumably in anticipation of the transfer of the properties into Stockport in 1974). It really is an ongoing record of contact with the voters.

KH selected – now there be a surprise !
Always thought this was just such a ‘warm-up’ act !!

Keith Holloway appears to be extrememly committed to Cheadle and Gatley. He is working hard on our behalf, and has the time and necessary commitment to be an excellent council member.

do we know who the tory candidate is

  5. OliverJohnstone says:

Councillor Mick Jones for the Conservatives.

  6. John Bodicoat says:

How come Keith is contesting this position. If Iain and Pam are not up for re-election is this an extra councillor?

  7. Iain Roberts says:

John – the one Conservative councillor is up for re-election.

  8. Robert Taggart says:

“COME ON MICKY” – if only for ‘balance’ !

Interesting to see that Mick Jones (or a henchman) has put up lots of advertising on the bill hoarding on the side of Depleach Hall.

I have never seen that hoarding with anything that looks like a paid-for advert, and always full of music/club posters, but strangely there are none of them and lots of Conservative material (including things with Mick’s name on).

I am sure he will have obtained permission from the building’s owners, or the company that licenses use of the hoarding. However, I am surprised he obtained it – there is no licensing company name on the hoarding and Mick has been pursuing planning enforcement action regarding use of land that I believe is attached to the hall .

Just had a visit from Pam King – she from the other side of town.
Scary – she was under the impression one was a LibDem supporter!
There appear to be only the three ‘usual suspects'(party wise) to vote for – what a ‘choice’!
