At the Gatley Village Partnership on Tuesday we had an interesting presentation from Paul Hartley on the Gatley Conservation Area – what it is and what it means.

The presentation is below.  Within a conservation area, permission has to be sought from the Council to demolish a building and there are additional controls over how buildings can be modified.  That doesn’t mean nothing changes in a conservation area, but the aim is to retain the look and character of the area.
