BMXers needed to support Bruntwood Park BMX Track funding application

by Lib Dem team on 13 July, 2012

Bruntwood Park BMX track in Cheadle was opened in 1985. It has been well used over time and as such is in need of renovating and improving for use today.

Stockport Council will be applying to Sport England for funding to improve and develop the BMX track. We want to know if the suggested improvements will meet your needs and encourage you to use it.

We also want to know whether there are any barriers that stop you using the track. Finding out whether coaching sessions or being a member of a BMX club would interest you is also important to us.

All the information is on the Council website and we have until 17th August 2012 to get everything in. So if you’re someone who might use an improved BMX track, whether you’re a regular rider or a novice, please help support the application.

This would be fantastic facility to encourage more visitors to the Cheadle area. With The National Cycling Centre and Platt Fields towards the city centre, the North West is becoming a hot bed of cycling, particularly BMX. If a club was also possible to establish, with periodic coaching from British Cycling staff, I’m sure this would be a popular and welcome addition to the area. Thank you.
