For the last few weeks, the Papua New Guinea olympic team – athletes and coaches – have been staying in the Village Hotel, Cheadle and training at Woodbank Park, Stockport.

Those that have qualified for the Olympics now travel down to London this week and we wish them well.

In addition to training hard, the athletes have taken the time to come to several events, including handing out awards to local schoolchildren at our Stockport BeInspired 2012 event at the Plaza. They’ve also developed a good level of expertise in our local bus services!

So best of luck to the team, and thank you to everyone locally who worked with them to make sure they felt welcome and gave them a good training environment.
