Quite a few people have mentioned the issue with weeds growing on roads and pavements around Cheadle & Gatley.

In any normal year, these would have been sorted by now as the weedkiller goes down. However, weedkiller’s little use in rain as it just gets washed away.

So with all the rain this summer, the work to kill off the weeds across Stockport Borough has fallen behind where it would normally be, but is still happening.

Some roads in Cheadle & Gatley have already been treated. Those that haven’t are due to be sprayed imminently, and it then takes a couple of weeks for the weedkiller to take effect and kill off the weeds.
