Stockport Road, Cheadle Heath will be closed for 12 days from Friday 17th August to Tuesday 28th August.

The closure is between the junctions of Swythamley Road and Hoylake Road, near to Go Outdoors and the back of Morrisons.

It is to allow Network Rail’s contractors to replace the railway bridge over Stockport Road. The signed diversion for traffic will be via Edgeley Road, Mercian Way, Shaw Heath, King Street West, Wood Street & Brinksway. Bus services will be maintained via alternate routes for the duration of the work.

After the new bridge is in place, further work will be needed. This will not require the whole road to be closed but will be done with lane closures and temporary traffic lights.
