Earlier this year, the Lib Dems campaigned with local residents to get a puffin crossing on Schools Hill, to replace the existing zebra crossing which had seen three recent accidents, one very serious. We won the campaign, and Sainsbury’s agreed to fund the cost of the puffin crossing (£50,000) as part of their store upgrade.
The design proposals have been worked up and come to Cheadle Area Committee for approval on 28th August, before coming to me as the executive member.
Once that’s agreed, the work can hopefully be done as quickly as possible to get the new crossing in place.

Iain- thanks for your perserverance with this ands thanks to Sainsburys also.. Any idea( weeks/months??) how ling things will take after 28th August… best regards, Paul.
