Springfield Road resurfaced

Springfield Road is being resurfaced as part of the million pounds Stockport Lib Dems are spending to resurface some of the worst residential roads across the borough.

We’re also looking at ways we might be able to find the money to resurface and repair more roads across the area.

Great to see local roads being resurfaced. Any chance Pendlebury road could be done? It’s one of the bumpiest roads in Gatley.

I think it’s fair to say that there’s no shortage of roads that we’d like to do if we had the money, and council officers do their best to determine which are in worst condition and repair those first.

If we can get the money then Pendlebury is among many we’d like to get done, and we will work on that – though it’s not easy at the moment.

Resurfacing a road like Springfield Road or Pendlebury Road costs somewhere around £50,000 so the numbers add up pretty quickly.

I complained several times about the state of Belmont Road, is anybody looking about doing some work there?
Thanks
