Teenager attacked near Belmont Road, Gatley

We’ve seen big falls in crime in recent years, which has continued over the last few months.

But, sadly, that doesn’t mean crime’s down to zero and we still need to be alert.

A 17 year old male was punched and had his Blackberry stolen when walking from Belmont Road to the park at the end of Leyland Avenue/Sevenoaks Road in Gatley.

The attack happened on August 19 at 8pm. Police describe the robber as a white male, aged 16 to 18, 5ft 10in tall and with a shaved head.

This crime follows a pattern we’re seeing right across the country – the people most likely to be victims of crime are young men, with the elderly actually being far less likely to fall prey to criminals.
