Hundreds of thousands of pounds of suspected drug money and drugs has been seized from several addresses in Stockport.
Wednesday 10 October 2012, officers from GMP’s Stockport division and the Force Drug Unit executed 13 drugs warrants at addresses across Stockport, including Cheadle, Davenport, Cale Green, Heaton Norris, Heaton Moor and Bredbury and one in North Wales.
Between £250,000 and £500,000 was seized from one address, a further £150,000 was seized from a second and £7,000 from a third.
Large amounts of what are believed to be Class A drugs and Benzocaine – which is often used to `mix drugs have also been seized, including an estimated 3kilos of cocaine from one address with a street of approximately £500,000.
Police have also recovered several cars, including a BMW X5 and Renault Laguna.
Seven men and three women have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and remain in police custody for questioning.
Inspector Steve Dix, said: “We are searching addresses right across the borough as part of this investigation and have already seized vast amounts of cash and drugs.
“This is a significant recovery and has come about as a result of months of investigative work and planning.
“Bringing to justice those who blight our communities by peddling drugs is an absolute priority for officers across Stockport and todays seizure will significantly dent the activities and ambitions of those involved in such activity.
“If anyone has any information about those involved in the sale and supply of drugs I would urge them to contact the police in absolute confidence.”
