Fixing Cheadle’s hole in the wall

by Lib Dem team on 9 October, 2015

Following a crash between a car and a motorbike, Cheadle’s got it’s very own hole in the wall, and Keith and the team are working to get it sorted.

The footpath was sectioned off on Tuesday afternoon and yesterday the top section of the wall that was unsafe was taken down so it couldn’t fall down.

The council has raised an order today for its repair but doesn’t yet have timescales for this work to be started.

Will this work also include the names nascent holes in the wall opposite the Village hotel?

Keith, when you clam that you and the team are working to get it sorted. Do you mean you phoned the Council and put in a service request, or do you mean you are going to actually do the work?

I don’t think anyone would want councillors to do specialist work repairing walls (hope not, anyway!). Our job is to raise it with the council and follow it through to make sure the work gets done.

Just put an huge advertising banner across the hole, like are plastered around the Village Hotel & Cheadle Leisure Centre. Also how come the Leisure Centre can getaway with the huge advertising Trailer sited at the top of Shiers Drive, on the bend , at a Junction, and blocking the footpath? Answers anyone?

Surely the cost of repairs will be met by the insurers of the vehicle(s) responsible – compulsory third part property damage, and not fall to council tax payers!
