Double bin for Gatley skate park

by Lib Dem team on 27 July, 2015

People have complained that there isn’t enough bin space at Gatley skate park in the Rec ground so litter ends up on the floor that could go in the bin. To help, Keith has secured a smart new double bin to replace one of the older single bins. Hopefully this will improve the litter situation.

New double-bin for Gatley skateboard park

by Lib Dem team on 26 May, 2015

A couple of weeks ago people on the Gatley Facebook page mentioned the need for more bin capacity around the skateboard park on Gatley Recreation ground. We’re pleased to report that the Council have agreed to our request and a double bin is being installed to replace the open bin current there, greatly increasing capacity. Although […]

New play equipment planned for Gatley Recreation Ground

by Lib Dem team on 2 September, 2014

We’ve spoken before of our frustration that play equipment promised for installation before the summer holidays in Gatley has been delayed due to the contractor messing up. Concern about fallen tree causing flooding

by Lib Dem team on 22 April, 2014

New play equipment for Gatley Rec

At Tuesday’s Cheadle Area Committee, councillors approved spending just over £25,000 from local developments in new play equipment for Gatley Recreation Ground. The new equipment will replace the ageing slide and climbing frame, and include an improved safety surface on the ground. We’re also looking for ways to fund an improvement to the tennis/basketball court […]

Keith gets new Recreation Ground gate installed

by Lib Dem team on 23 April, 2013

Keith has got the new gate for Gatley Rec Ground play area installed. The gate – at the Co-op side of the play area, now closes automatically and gently, making it far less likely that small children will run out, or that fingers will be trapped. The Council will also be adding in new play […]

Advice on urban foxes

by Lib Dem team on 11 February, 2013

Urban foxes are increasingly a part of our lives. Cycling through the centre of Edgeley at 6am last week (not by choice!) a fox padded up behind me and kept up with my bike for well over 100m. In Gatley I’ve had foxes playing in the back garden. Foxes can be more of a problem, […]
