Adult Learners Week celebrations in Stockport start with a day of events at the Stopford Open Learning Centre on Saturday 12th May from 11am-3pm.

The themes for this year’s events, organised by Stockport Council’s Continuing Education Service, include Learning through Art and Culture, Learning with your Family/Community, Learning for Health, Learning through Sport and Leisure, Learning through Technology and Innovation, Learning for Work and Learning about your World.

During the fun afternoon, people can try out different activities for all the family. Staff will be on hand to help you improve your English and maths, advise about employment, and how to write a CV and make job applications.

Richard Mortimer, Head of Service, said: “Every year we have thousands of local people accessing learning and this is our opportunity to show the wide range of learning that exists. We welcome everyone to the event on Saturday.”
