On two occasions, I have found my unlocked in the morning. This has also happened to my wife once, and my neighbour once. I’m presuming a keyfob being activated in a pocket, because we are all pretty security conscious.
Whatever the reason for the car being unlocked, on every single occasion the unlocked vehicle has been searched and small bits and pieces like coins and cheap sunglasses (nothing of value is ever left in the cars) stolen.
You know the car has been gone over before you get to it, because the vermin that have been in there don’t shut the door properly (I’m told it’s to avoid making noise).
The point I’m making is that it seems that somone checks car doors every night, so always double check!
Fair play to the police by the way – they took it seriously and the second time it happened they came out and gave my car a good fingerprinting (albeit to no avail)
