Those who knew Ayesha, who had been touched by her life, and those who did not. People of all faiths and of none. As the light of the day drained away, we gathered together to mourn the loss of a 19 year old woman taken from us when her whole life lay ahead of her.

Ayesha Rahman was killed when she was hit by a car less than two weeks ago. The driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Many members of Ayesha’s family joined us. Prayers were said and a two minute silence observed in her memory. We would like to wish Ayesha’s family our heartfelt condolences.

We would like to thank Val Gardner who had the idea for the community to come together to remember Ayesha, and organised it, and Clare Forrest who spoke for us all.
