We recently reported that the Lib Dem councillors had voted to make the High Grove pub on Silverdale Road, Gatley an Asset of Community Value (ACV). The vote gave the local community a window to raise the money for a bid to take over the pub.

However, we also warned that Hydes had a right of appeal, and we’ve now heard that they plan to use it.

Because the legislation is fairly new, we’ve not had an appeal in Stockport before, so it’s not clear quite how it will work. We do know that, by law, the appeal goes to a senior council officer who will make the final decision. That should happen in the next few weeks so we’ll keep you updated.
