I believe the zebra crossing on Hollyhedge road belongs to SMBC (so Manchester Council tell me) , one light has been vandalsied, light out and cover missing.

The road markings are faint and need repainting.

In fact, few motorists bother to stop at the crossing … a light controlled pelican crossing is urgently needed, it might slow the vehicles that are speeding at close to the 30mph limit.

    I have reported the defects.

    correction for my previous post
    *double the 30mph speed limit*

A separate issue, can the speed cameras at the junction of Gatley road and Kingsway be turned back on, everyone knows they are not working.

I certainly know having be almost hit by motorists speeding through the lights well after they have gone to red, this happened twice last week.

I regularly report potholes and missing streetlights. However, it is not sufficent to say ‘the light outside 1 Accacia Ave’, the council wants the lamp number as well. This is quite difficult to do when on a roundabout ( near Sainsburys on the A34 where there are lots of missing lights)
Why can’t the numbers be larger and painted in luminous paint?

  4. Iain Roberts says:

    Hi Jennifer,

It is perfectly fine to say “the light outside 1 Accacia Avenue”. It’s good to have the lamp number too, but not essential.

The people in the call centre have a computer map showing the location of every lamp, so they can find it from a description.
