From Tuesday 10th January, there’s a new way to apply for a Leisure Key in Stockport.
The Leisure Key scheme allows Stockport residents to get discounts on leisure and cultural activities such as swimming and other sports and theatre.
The new system streamlines the claims process for Leisure Key customers, removing the need for a paper application form contained in the current Leisure Key leaflet.
From 10th January, residents can apply by calling into:
Armed forces cards are only available from Fred Perry House.
Leisure Key cards may only be purchased by cash – debit or credit cards are not accepted. Cards cost £2.55 for Band A, £6.15 for Band B and Band D Armed forces single card and £10 for Band E for the Armed Forces family card.
Companion cards for people who need support to use a facility are free.
More information about eligibility can be found on the Council website www.stockport.gov.uk/benefits
Existing outlets providing Leisure Key cards which come under Life Leisure (formerly Stockport Sports Trust) cannot administer the new scheme due to data restrictions and access issues.
The sites most affected by the change are the Lapwing Centre and Grand Central Pools as they currently have Leisure Key cards on site to hand out. However, there are alternative outlets very close to these venues at First House in Brinnington, and the Central Library and Fred Perry House.
To facilitate the move to the new on-line system, there will be no Leisure Key system available on 9th January.

Hi – you can use the leisure key at all Stockport leisure centres (the Life Leisure ones) and tourist attractions. If you ask at your local library they should be able to give you more details.
I seem to have lost my Leisure Key, I thought it was at Avondale Swimming Pool, but it has not turned up there and that is the only place I use it. It is due for a renewal in January, should I call in the Tourist Information in the market with a new photograph for my renewal pass. I think it runs out mid to end of January.
Hi. I recently moved from Marple, Stockport to Disley, Stockport and have been told I can no longer get a Leisure Key card now I’m in an SK12 postcode area and not an SK6 postcode area, even though both are in Stockport. Is this correct? I was told this at Stockport Central Library.
Kind regards,
Emma

I have some heart problems plus two replacement hips. Am I eligible for a leisure key?
Hi John – please see the Council’s leisure key page for more information. There’s a phone number you can call to speak to someone who should be able to help.
