Newly opened Roasted is a cafe worth a visit. Being in the parade on Silverdale Road (next to the High Grove pub) it may be one you won’t happen to pass by, but do take a detour!
Walking into the cafe, I was greeted not only by friendly staff but also a roaring log fire, shelves filled with books on the walls and a real home-from-home feeling. Whilst the High Grove stopped serving food at the beginning of last year, Roasted have got their old chef.
Although not the most obvious location for a cafe, Roasted’s owners hope to attract custom not only from the large Lakes estate, but also Cheadle Royal Business Park.
Gatley is also home to Coffee Fix, consistently rates as one of the best cafes in Greater Manchester and a favourite with cyclists. The Manchester Wire website recently named Coffee Fix as one of the top three GM coffee shops, saying “Let’s hope the residents of Gatley and Cheadle realise how fortunate they are to have a local café like Coffee Fix – on their doorstep.” Add in Armenique and others, and it seems the café culture is alive and well in Gatley.

Wish them all the best and luck and hope the ” the Business Rates ” section of the Council support them and not hammer them into closure
Business rates are set by central Government, not the Council.
So was the council tax rate freeze, but it didn’t stop our lib dem council putting it up again!
Council tax is set locally, following rule set by central govt (which, like all councils, Stockport followed). Business rates are set by central government – local councils just collect it.
Walking through Gatley this afternoon i discovered that we have a new greengrocers! I popped in for a chat and it looks really nice. A cold cheeses and meats counter too. I’ll be a regular and i wish them every success.
Went for a coffee and breakfast at Roasted this morning. What a lovely venue, friendly, welcoming staff and really good food. Will visit again soon. Please pass my comments on.
