Cllr Iain Roberts has been selected to stand as the Cheadle & Gatley Liberal Democrat candidate in the local elections on May 22nd.
Iain was first elected in a by-election in 2009, then held his seat in 2010.
“It’s been a privilege to serve Cheadle and Gatley,” said Iain. “Over that time I’ve been able to help hundreds of residents with problems and the Lib Dem team have made real progress improving our area. There are still a lot of challenges to come, though – Council budgets are set to shrink further, we need to get our roads and pavements repaired and continue to do everything we can to find ways to improve the Gatley Road junction.”
The local elections are on the same day as the European elections: Thursday 22nd May 2014. One third of Stockport councillors – one in each ward – will be up for election.
