Thanks to fellow Gatley governor Jamie – between us we cleared a good deal of the rubbish in the passageway behind the Co-op (from Oakwood Avenue to Elm Road) and split it between our various wheelie bins. It’s not perfect, but a lot better.
There’s a good deal of litter still on the Co-op property – in their bin enclosure and their parking spaces. A lot of people seem to have asked them to clear it up in the last few days but it’s still there – so come on Co-op – we know you’re normally very good at keeping things clean and tidy.

WELL DONE.
Regarding litter in Cheadle, there are people employed by the council who regularly remove litter from High Street and Wilmslow Road in Cheadle village.
However these people do not go anywhere other than the village itself which is a great shame as the approaches to Cheadle are often strewn with rubbish.
Yesterday (Sunday ) I walked to Cheadle from Schools Hill and the litter bin at the bus stop near Bridge Drive was over flowing, the pavements had rubbish from take- aways, and the dark green ‘box’ near Whitegates/Grangepark Road has cans and take-away
boxes stuffed down the back of it.
I know that money is limited, but is there any way of organising a ‘clean up’ perhaps on a Sunday morning. I’d be willing to help. I try very hard to pick up litter along the pavements near to where I live on Schools Hill.
