One of this week’s planning applications has an interesting story behind it.

Application 46586 is to change 2 Old Hall Road, Gatley from a Hairdressing salon into a two bedroom flat.  The salon (the one above the Tatton Salon) is closing down, with one of the hairdressers moving into the Tatton Salon, with a separate section at the back.

There’s also application 46631 to convert 78 Church Road, Gatley from a launderette into a hair and beauty salon.

Daylesford Road residents might like to take a look at application 46734 – demolish 15 Daylesford Road and replace it with two new detached houses.

There are also some applications for signs outside the new Tesco Express being built at the Red Lion site in Gatley and for an advert outside 78 Church Road.

(I’ve amended this piece since I first wrote it – I had included a throw-away comment about hairdressers in Gatley which with hindsight was misjudged and is now removed).
