Stockport Council has recently moved to a new and enhanced website where residents can find out facts and figures about what the Council’s doing, plus see agendas for meetings both current and going back to 2001 – it’s all here.
Want to know how Stockport compares to Manchester in staff numbers? The latest figures we have are from April 2007, which show Stockport employing 25.2 Full Time Equivalent staff for each 1,000 residents, with Manchester employing 42.18 (that’s under the “Facts Figures and Finance” section).
Or perhaps you want to track down what happened when a particular topic was discussed, though you’ve no idea when that was – the new search allows you to search committee papers going back to 2001.
You can read the agendas for recent and up-coming meetings too. For example, here’s all the information on last week’s Cheadle Area Committee.
It’s also easy to get email notifications sent to you when something of interest comes up – for example, you might want to be informed of any new consultations, or of the agenda being available for a particular meeting.
The new system isn’t perfect and I’ve a couple of minor gripes, but it makes it a great deal easier for anyone with an interest to see what’s being done now or has been done in the past.
