Anyone who spotted the commotion, lights, vehicles, crowds, etc. around the pavillion on Scholes Field and under the railway bridge on the path from Foxland Road might have wondered what was going on.
There was some filming for the Channel 4 show Shameless, and there might be some more around the village over the next few days.
As my son commented (as we inched our way past the very helpful and polite crew on our bikes), you don’t realise just how much goes into this filming, with the numbers of people, vans, trucks, equipment and all the rest of it.
I guess I’d have to watch it and see some Gatley locations popping up.

Oh No ! Let us hope there be no clues in the final cut as to where this was filmed – Gatley masquerading as Wythy – property prices will plummet !
I think it’s good they are using gatley, after all the main set is just over the border near to wythenshawe hospital. I’m sure they used timperley for some scenes recently so why not gatley!
