Cheadle Area Committee, 25th October

by Lib Dem team on 18 October, 2011

Cheadle Area Committee is next Tuesday – your opportunity to come to the Upper Rooms in Cheadle (above Tesco – access from the car park) at 6pm. You’ll hear reports from the police and council officers, have the opportunity to ask questions and have your say. (Questions to councillors need to be submitted at the beginning of the meeting).

Main items on the agenda for next week:

  • Planning application to extend 20 Wilmslow Road, Cheadle and turn it from a dental surgery to a residential dwelling.
  • Proposal for yellow lines down one side of Cambridge Road, Gatley opposite the station. This is an issue the Lib Dems have been working on for some time – we’ve consulted and informed residents in the area and we think this is a good option.
  • Parking issues on Outwood Road and Wilmslow Road in Heald Green.
  • A review of polling districts and polling station locations across Stockport – no changes are proposed for our area.
  • Request to hold a Christmas Lights Switch-on at Cheadle Green on 10th December.

The yellow line on Cambridge Road might stop rail traffic cars from parking but will not improve my problem. I live near Cambridge and parking has now got out of control. As i speak i can count 7 cars parked either outside/opposite or close to my house. Sometimes if people are in a hurry to catch a train thet have actuially blocked my drive. Great idea but please extend it to surrounding roads or introduce residents parking

Here here, the next vehicle to block my gates will be moved by me.
