Work will start next Wednesday (26th October 2011) to upgrade and improve pedestrian crossing facilities at the Stockport Road/Councillor Lane junction in Cheadle.
The works will last for a few weeks, during which time it will not be possible to turn left from Councillor Lane towards Cheadle village. Instead, traffic will be directed to turn right and go round Roscoe’s roundabout.

I sincerely hope the cycle advance stop lines will be reinstated.
Will they go around the round about or will they use Brookfield and oak road as a short cut! I seriously hope not as this is often busy particularly during rush hour.

Garry – can’t say, but I suspect people who do that in rush hour will find it’s taking them longer than if they’d gone round the roundabout.

maybe it would be a good idea to put notices up on the road forewarning people as i have just been sat in traffic for 20 minutes with no idea why
