Congratulations to Boutinot, Gatley-based international wine importer, producer and distributor (offices next to the Horse & Farrier) who’s sales increased to £95.3 million in 2012.
Boutinot currently employs 80 staff and was sold in a management buy-out in March.
It was founded in 1980 to source wines for Paul Boutinot’s parents’ restaurant in Heald Green and now has a portfolio of more than 800 wines.

nice to see any company doing well but then does that company actually contribute to its locality that should be the question, i.e: of those 80 staff how many are actually from Gatley/Heald Green, do they have parking facilities for that many staff and then visitors on top ?
one can’t be too parochial about how locally sourced the staff are for any local shop/business. One of the staff at Sainbury’s on Cheadle High Street told me he was from Wythenshawe. There has to be a benefit in the fact that SMBC get the business tax, the local shops get business (lunches, banking, newspapers/magazines) from the staff employed there etc
Sajeel,
What’s your point? I would expect a proportion of the company employees spend their money in Gatley every day. As for the staff being from round here…who knows and who cares? Judging by how hard it is to get a decent bottle of plonk in Gatley I can’t imagine the place is burgeoning with specialist wine buyers…Come on Boudinot, where’s the sales counter!
