Thank you to the more-than-200 people who have already completed Keith’s residents’ survey to let Keith know which issues you think we should be working on.
If you’ve not yet filled it in, you can do so here. It only takes a couple of minutes.
Keith is going through every response and replying to everyone, but he’s already put together a list of the issues you are telling us are the ones you think we should be working on. This chart shows all the issues raised by more than one person so far.

Cannot believe the Tatton come fourth in the list well above social Services, more community working, Kingsway Junction etc. It is just a building the other things are about making people’s lives better. I am appalled that people in general think this way.
It is only 200 people, and by and large it will be 200 people who are active via this site, so it is not that representative
Thank god for that thought Gatley people had gone mad lol
Arthur
People in general don’t think this way (Tatton).
If the chart represents actual numbers of people, then only about 24 commented about the Tatton.
Although, in fairness, I’m surprised that even fewer people thought fit to mention Kingsway junction.
Thank god for that thought Gatley people had gone mad lol
Mind you, still worrying that 200 lib dems think this way though.
Do we actually have a real problem with crime, etc in the area? Or is this just people’s fears with nothing actual to base it on? A look at the police newsletters, that Iain publishes here, would suggest the latter we don’t seem to have an significant issues – so fear of crime, rather than crime itself.
The problem is other areas report all crimes no matter how small and we don’t so in the future they will get the patrols and we won’t. Just how things will be due to the police cuts.
Other than the stabbings, burglaries, muggings, car break-ins and antisocial behaviour – No John. No problem at all.
With all that crime, it’s odd the police don’t mention any significant problem. I’d agree with them – I reckon that I live in a relatively crime and trouble free area here in Gatley. Of course it’s not crime free – that’d be paradise wouldnt it? Still there’ll always be those wanting to stoke up fear in folk – particularly in the elderly and vulnerable.
PS……I see the big issue reported in the last Police newsletter (published in this blog) was the theft of some garden ornaments. Not exactly a reign of terror.
I was interested by Keith’s survey invite, so i did it and sent it off. Thanks Keith for publishing the results so far.
Of course it isn’t representative of all the people of Gatley. How to reach more people no doubt Keith is working on but it does give a snap-shot of us that replied. Like many, i was surprised to see Tatton so high; above NHS and PT – perhaps that’s saying we really value our village although on further thought surely most would but those higher. Re. crime: John Hartley’s comment Nov 1 spot on.
Hi John,
Thanks for your comments. You’re right – it’s not representative. We’re knocking on doors with a paper version to get it out as widely as possible, and we’ll update the responses as we go along.
Iain
None so blind John.
Graham you wanna try living in a place with a real crime problem to understand how relatively minor crime is in Cheadle and Gatley.
Terrible public transport is Cheadle & Gatley’s biggest problem and that is partly because most residents can afford a car, hence people come here to rob them.
