Spot any advertising on lamp posts or railings?

by Lib Dem team on 23 June, 2010

We’ve had a bit of a rash of advertising signs going up on lamp posts and railings recently.  The Council are aware of it and one of the culprits – Pink Limos – have been spoken to.

If you spot any others, please let Pam or myself know (along with the location).  It’s not legal and makes the villages look messy.

Tacky banner on corner of Shiers Drive/Wilmslow Road Cheadle, advertising dental services has been display since christmas, does this have planning permission? Also still two street lamps out on far end of Shiers Drive near recycling bins, out now for along along time well over a year.

advert for flagstones on grass verge on Kingsway as you come up on to Kingsway from the slip road off the M60 and South Park Road, going towards Wilmslow.
I also worry about the banners with birthday wishes strung along railings by the motorway bridges, If they were to come loose and float down to the bypass/motorway they’d be a hazard. Is it the police or highways one should complain to?

Here I go, back to the old chestnut, the worst case of advertising is the Tatton cinema frontage and that has been there for a couple of months now. All adds to the ambience of the centre of Gatley!

Yesterday a Advertising trailer was sited on the footpath, totally blocking the footpath, at a junction at the top of Shiers Drive Cheadle, advertising The Leisure Centre, even though they do have planning permission to display a banner on the building itself. They were told about siting a trailer at this point when they did so last year.
