Gatley residents will have noticed the clock on the old war memorial at the junction of Church Road and Gatley Road has stopped working.

It broke during the cold weather in January.

Pam King and I reported it to the Council.  They’ve had the experts come and look at it, and the news isn’t good.

The clock’s gone seriously wrong, the company that made it went out of business in 1976 and the estimate for repairing the clock is £3-4,000.

The Council’s currently looking at where that money can come from and it won’t be fixed overnight.
