Stockport Council is encouraging parents/carers to attend consultation sessions about the future of Offerton School. The Council is consulting interested parties on a proposal to close Offerton School following a decision by the Council’s Executive in June. A series of consultation sessions are being held at Offerton School to give interested parties, especially current and future parents as well as members of the community, the chance to give their views on the proposal. The consultation sessions are being held on the following dates:

• Tuesday 28th September, 8.15am-10.15am

• Thursday 30th September, 5pm-8pm

• Monday 4th October, 3pm-6pm

• Thursday 7th October, 8.15am-10.15am

Following the consultation, the Executive will review the proposal and all the public responses in early autumn to take a decision on whether to publish a Statutory Notice to close Offerton School. The closure would not be before July 2012 and there would need to be a phased withdrawal from that site. People can also give their views on the proposal by visiting www.stockport.gov.uk/haveyoursay.
