I’ve heard a rumour that someone attempted to abduct a Kingsway pupil near Lum Head Primary School.  This is untrue, and the story appears to have got garbled.

The real story is that someone reported a “suspicious male” in a car in that area and the police are making enquiries.

And, of course, whilst it’s entirely right to report suspicions to the police, just because you or I think someone is looking or acting suspiciously doesn’t mean they’re actually up to no good.

Police patrols have been increased in the area, and the police are keen to identify the man and get him to clarify his actions.  No similar incidents have been reported in the area either on or since Friday.
