Hear about the Cheadle Green Dig at Area Committee
by Lib Dem team on 2 November, 2010
At Cheadle Area Committee on Tuesday 9th November we’re looking forward to a presentation from the Cheadle Archeological Society on the Cheadle Green Dig.
The excavations at Cheadle Green happened a few weeks ago and lots of people came along to see what was happening and even have a go themselves.
Other items include:
presentation on the 2011 census
Planning application DC045256 (new flats for rent above the shops at 14-20 Old Rectory Gardens, Cheadle) is back again after being first discussed last month – the officer recommendation is to grant the application.
Planning application DC045260 – rear extension to 8 Nansen Road, Gatley. I called this up at the request of a resident (which means it comes to the councillors rather than being decided by officers). Councillors are normally happy to call up applications if asked to, but do bear in mind that it just means they’ll get a fair public hearing, not that councillors are necessarily any more likely than officers to make a decision that goes the way someone might want.
A proposal to lease some Council land off Oak Road, Cheadle Hulme (not the Oak Road in Cheadle) to the Royal British Legion to construct a building from which to administer and operate the annual Poppy Appeal. The building would be behind the existing Scout HQ (“Basecamp”) and the North West Reserve Forces and Cadets building.
An update from the Council on progress dealing with the flooding issues around Ladybridge Road, Cheadle Hulme and Broadway, Cheadle.
