I live on brook street cheadle and the road is a mess. I have contacted the council a number of times and they claim there is not a problem but I can’t believe they actually looked at the road. It is dangerous to walk down – where do I go to actually get some work done on this problem.we are on the top end of brook street -not the cottage end. Thanks
Hi May,
Thanks for getting in touch.
Pam and I will visit Brook Street, report the potholes to the council and see what we can do.
Reporting the potholes as I have done will have little effect as there is no money to do the repairs or so I was told by the council. They wanted to know how deep and how wide the potholes were. Only if they were deep enough would they be repaired, or so I gathered.
Hi Ruth,
It’s true that deeper potholes are being targetted – all the ones we’ve reported on the South Park Road estate are, I believe, deep enough to qualify (there’s a national standard – over 25mm deep).
However, there’s some good news – we’ve received more money from the Government to fix potholes, about an extra £500,000 I think, so I’m hopeful they will be done.
