This is National Bike Week, so why not give cycling a try.

At Gatley Primary School, the bike racks are filling up each day now (mostly bikes, but a couple of unicycles too!).

I cycled to the Town Hall this morning – as I do quite often.  I’m not the fastest cyclist around, but I can do the four mile journey in about 20 minutes which at some times of the day is quicker – as well as healthier – than driving.  And with petrol prices through the roof, I’m saving myself a bit of money too.

If you’d like to cycle but can’t or won’t, let me know why not.  It may not be something we can solve overnight, but I would like to understand more about what’s stopping people from cycling and see what we can do about it.
