Budget Simulator
A new online tool gives residents a chance to see the type of decisions Stockport councillors will have to make to balance the books for 2012/13.
By 2014 the Council will have to make savings of £35 – £45 million from a total budget of over £230 million. The Council has provided a Budget Simulator so that residents can create their own budget and understand the difficulties in setting a council budget when trying to make savings.
The Simulator will be used throughout the year, at various locations and engage a number of different groups such as children in schools and colleges, and residents via libraries and the Council website. The process is for simulation purposes only. It is not part of the ‘Have your say’ consultations on current budget proposals – there is a link to the consultation once you complete the budget simulator.
