Volunteer with Stockport Police and boost your skills

by Lib Dem team on 24 March, 2010

Stockport residents are being encouraged to play their part in improving the quality of public service provided by police in Stockport.

As part of the Stockport Boost campaign, a volunteer recruitment scheme is now appealing for volunteers to help out with administrative tasks.

Vacancies currently exist at Stockport, Cheadle Heath, Reddish and Hazel Grove police stations. Positions have been designed to compliment the existing volunteer roles within Greater Manchester Police, such as special constables and Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators.

It is hoped that the development of the positions will reduce the number of administrative tasks currently undertaken by front-line officers, allowing them to spend even more time providing visible policing in their neighbourhoods.

Volunteering also provides an opportunity for members of the public to boost their CV and enhance their career opportunities. To find out more about the volunteering opportunities available with Stockport Police telephone 0161 856 9754.
