Following Lib Dem pressure, it has been confirmed that Gatley Hill will be properly resurfaced over the next few months.
Gatley Hill is in desperate need of repair. We did get potholes fixed a couple of years ago, but they’re back again and need to be sorted. We’re very glad that the Council will now be doing a proper repair which will see this well-used road (although it’s technically in a park, it’s the main access to Gatley House, the Scout Hut, several residences, allotments and the fields where the Gatley Festival is held each year).

“Bowt blooody time”!
Oh… what about Hawthorn Road ? at the Western end in particular ?!
We’ve had work done on Hawthorn Road – e.g. outside the school has been properly patched now. It would be good to get the work done at the western end too.
Too right… Councillor !
By the by, saw some extensive resurfacing being done on Richmond Hill Road.
Good to hear. But, now let us see some action!
re: RT/Hawthorn Road – here, here, here.
What about the junction of styal road and hollyhedge road – as normal this is bad – patching just doesn’t cut it!
Logged a call on-line for pot holes on Lorna Gr a couple of weeks ago. Got the usual automated response stating that they’d reply in 2 working days – got nothing. Queried why with a copy of my original post, again got the automated reply, and again nothing.
Iain/Pam, what is going wrong with the streetscene call centre? They’re usually excellent.
How about Cheadle? Driving down High Grove Rd is dangerous what with speeding cars and dodging potholes. Milton Crescent is getting just as bad.
Hi Lindy,
Agreed – we’ve started resurfacing parts of roads in Cheadle too, and there’ll be a lot more over the next few months. High Grove Road definitely needs some repairs doing – we’ve put in the requests so that should be done soon.
