At Stockport’s Disability User Group today we had a useful update from the people behind disabledgo – a website that gives impressively detailed information for anyone with a disability.

For example, not only will the guide tell you whether a venue has disabled access, it will say whether the doors are single or double, manual or automatic, heavy or light to open.  It won’t just tell you whether there are disabled toilets, but exactly what the measurements are, where the fixtures are, whether there’s good colour contrast between the walls and floors and more besides.

The disabledgo website doesn’t just cover Stockport, but also many other towns and cities across the country.  Take a look!
