Following complaints from residents, the Council has issued a legal notice requiring Virgin Media to fix the broken cover in the pavement on Ashfield Road, by the junction with Ashfield Crescent, Cheadle (near the library).
We’ve effectively had a big hole in the pavement, covered over with some fencing, and Virgin Media have taken far too long to fix it.
We’ve been told that they should be repairing it shortly – we’ll be checking!

Having walked past this hazzard for several weeks now I am staggered Virgin is not regarding it as a priority. Having sent a photograph of it to Pam (King) it has taken only one day for the two of you to chase it and deliver an ultimatum. Thanks for your work on this – I hope it gets a result quickly not least because it’s right outside Cheadle Medical Practice.
It’s fixed! I have walked past it this afternoon and was delighted to no longer see a chasm on the pavement but a new cover! Thanks for chasing this up!
