What’s on at Cheadle Area Committee 3rd Feb 2015

by Lib Dem team on 26 January, 2015

Cheadle Area Committee is next Tuesday, 3rd February 2015 starting at 6pm. As always, everyone’s welcome. The meeting is held in the Ladybridge Park Residents Club, Edenbridge Road, Cheadle Hulme.

On this month’s agenda:

  • Application for £1000 funding from Manchester Rugby Club based in Cheadle Hulme
  • Planning application 53876 to build two new 3 bedroom houses on Rosewood Avenue, Gatley. The immediate neighbours have written to object, planning officers are recommending grant.
  • Planning application 54943 to convert Pymgate House Rest Home on Styal Road (just south of Yew Tree Grove) from residential care home to five apartments with a new access onto Pymgate Lane. This is an outline planning application so a further application will be needed for the detailed design. Officers are recommending grant.
  • Planning application 56097 to covert existing stables and dutch barn into four dwellings on Ladybridge Farm, Ladybridge Road, Cheadle Hulme. One letter of objection received, officers are recommending grant with the final decision to be made by the Council’s Planning & Highways committee.
  • Planning application 56935 to build a new three bedroom house on the corner of Oak Road and Oakfield Avenue, connected to 3 Oak Road. No objections received from residents, officers are recommending grant with the final decision to be made by the Council’s Planning & Highways committee.
  • Review of Brookfield Shiers Family Trust – a fund work £297,238. The approach councillors have taken since this fund was donated is to keep the fund’s real-terms value and distribute money over and above that, inviting local groups to apply for funds. The fund currently has a surplus of £30,945 over and above the real-terms value of the original investment so councillors will be deciding how much, if any, to make available.
  • Proposal to put double yellow lines at the junction of Waldon Avenue and Wilmslow Road in Cheadle.
  • Proposal to put double yellow lines across the entrance to the private car park at the far north end of Back Massie Street.
  • Proposal to make Windsor/Clifton/Barngate/Wilcott/Newby in Gatley a 20mph zone.

Isn’t Pymgate Lodge is a hotel? I assume Pymgate Care Home is intended.

Will there be suitable off road parking for the proposed new build on Oak Road? That end of the road is already a nightmare to drive down at certain times of day. Especially on Tuesday’s when the patrons of the Conservative club park along the double yellow lines.
