It’s official – Mark Hunter and Graham Greenhalgh on the ballot paper

by Lib Dem team on 10 April, 2015

Nominations for the General Election and local election closed at 4pm on Thursday so we now know that Mark Hunter – who’s been our MP for nearly ten years – will be the Lib Dem candidate for Cheadle parliamentary constituency and Graham Greenhalgh will stand for the local council seat in Cheadle and Gatley.

The Lib Dems are the only ones who have a track record of working hard for our area all year round, year after year. Others turn up at election time and ask for your vote, we get things done.

We’ve been out on the doorsteps knocking on thousands of doors over the last few months and, as usual, both elections are looking to be a close contest between the Lib Dems and Conservatives with the other parties out of the running.

On 8th May we’re going to wake up with either Mark Hunter or the Conservative as our MP, and – as David Cameron has been keen to tell us – Cheadle is one of the key constituencies they’re looking to in order to deliver a Tory majority able to do all the things the Lib Dems have stopped them doing over the last five years.

I wish the bridge in Gatley was as nice as the one pictured here in Cheadle.
