Mill Lane development proceeding well

by Lib Dem team on 20 January, 2016

mill laneThe housing development at the end of Mill Lane (drive past the Alex and just keep on going) is proceeding well, having stalled for several years with just a few of the homes built.

Residents of those first houses will be looking forward to not having to look out over a building site as they open their front room curtains! The development will see more homes built within easy walking distance of Cheadle village centre.

And the increased traffic from these homes from Mill Lane onto Manchester Road will be controlled how?. Yet another set of traffic lights to hold up the flow through the village!!!!!

    • Iain Roberts says:

Hi Geoff, there won’t be any additional controls. The traffic from the extra houses at the junction won’t be a significant increase on the traffic already coming through the junction (remember 1,500 people work at the Alex).

  2. Halifax says:

And easy driving distance to the already congested Gatley Junction if they want to access to M60 Clockwise, or the Handforth Dean Shopping Area. They will be able to join the drivers from the Barnes Hospital Development

    • Iain Roberts says:

As I’ve said before, the question isn’t whether we get more housing. It’s how we deal with it.

      • Halifax says:

Iain – In some respect I think you unintentionally hit the nail on the head.

The problem is politicians telling is what the question is, and therefore only answering the question they want.

  3. Ian says:

Great to see new housing but the Architecture and reclaimed brick…not for me.

  4. Margaret Cummins says:

Let’s hope the new residents wont want to park in Cheadle car parks to do any heavy shopping. They will soon get fed up with that.
    What’s the point…..
