The next Cheadle Area Committee is at 6pm at Ladybridge Park Residents Club, Edenbridge Road, Cheadle Hulme on Tuesday 9th February 2016. As ever, all are welcome.
We’ve got a busy agenda for next week.
- It’s OK Club is asking for £1,000 for a football table, computer games, Wii, exercise classes, art and massage. The club is based at St Cuthbert’s Church, Cheadle and helps people with mental health problems. It’s been running since 2008.
- Planning application 59845 – two storey extension, 157 Stanley Road, Heald Green
- Planning application 60421 – conversion of 17 Church Road (corner of Church Road and Elm Road) from retail with first floor flat to two-floor cafe.
- Report from the Council on the Sim Chem building in Cheadle following a campaign by local councillors to get something to happen to the eyesore.
- Brookfield Shiers Family Trust – to decide how to distribute money from the trust.
- Proposal for yellow lines on Carrs Road, Cheadle – to consider objections received.
- Proposal for change in yellow lines at the junction of Victoria Avenue and Cheadle Road, Cheadle Hulme – to consider objection received.
- Proposal for limited parking at the cul-de-sac section of Queen’s Road, Cheadle Hulme (near the junction with Radnormere Drive and Orrishmere Road).
- Proposal for double yellow line round the inside of the bend on Warren Avenue
- Proposal for double yellow lines at the entrance to Orchard Gardens, off Longley Lane (including extended lines after consultation with residends).
- Proposal for double yellow lines at the junction of Byron Drive and Dryden Avenue.
- Proposal for permanent flashing speed signs on Styal Road at a cost of £7,000.
- Application for paid residents parking scheme on Jackson Street, Cheadle.
- Application to permit the owners of the new hotel (under construction) in Bruntwood Park to lay a new gas pipe to the hotel.
- Application for community fun day on Easter Sunday at Cheadle Green.
- Three applications relating to different community events that form part of the Gatley Festival late June/early July
Planning application 60421 this is fine so long as it is not a way to get yet another restaurant in Gatley especially another Indian Restaurant think we have enough restaurants and takeaways.

What I cannot figure out is how do they manage to run a viable concern with so much local opposition.
